About TC Curriculum & Instructional Design, LLC (TCCID, LLC)

TCCID is an Educational and Organization improvement company based in New Hampshire. Specializations include both educator professional development sessions to enhance classroom instructional strategies and whole-school improvement.
While services are generally conducted in the northeastern United States, consideration is given to other locations as well.
TCCID shows educators how to get off the platform to become facilitators of learning.
Preparing students for the 21st century requires that educators have a solid grasp on learning theories and a working knowledge of how to integrate technology in their lessons. See my slide which will shed some light on 21st Century learning.
My strategies engage the learner by differentiating the instruction to reach all learners in the classroom. My passion is active learning strategies and I am proud to be the founder of PAILAL which helps to make educators aware of the other gifted learners; the often neglected active learner.
TCCID is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOB).

About the President

My great-great uncle, HoraceMann (1796-1859) sought to make a real difference in education and many would agree that he most certainly did. My father began as a math teacher before his calling to serve in the military and his love of music. Entering the military myself, I found that I was more successful than others as a trainer because I wanted to truly develop understanding and subsequently help others to develop an understanding of what was to be learned. Like those before me, I choose to make a difference.
I enjoy being a facilitator of learning, always working to keep my instructional knowledge current with strategies that work. My skills include differentiated, brain-based learning in an active, collaborative, project-based environment. My educational technology skills expand learning and are often implemented in my sessions to reach more learners. I have developed and facilitated character building, leadership, and professional development sessions that have made a difference in both Socio-Economic Status (SES) disadvantaged and affluent schools for both children and adults. I have also made a huge difference in medical simulation by making learning more understandable for medical students, residents, attending physicians, and nurses. The results are improved patient safety and mutual support by way of more better trained, competent and confident clinicians.
Learning is of on-going importance to me. I achieved a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, accomplishing both with a 4.0 GPA. Currently, I am currently completing a Ph.D in Education with a dissertation topic involving differentiating instruction.
I take great pride in facilitating learning. I don't just use the cliché that all can learn, I model it by connecting theory with practice.

Samples of Work and Testimonials

Recent work included: Developing differentiated, brain-based lesson plans for an important history project by a prominent veteran's museum. Additionally, I have designed an entire collaborative web site for an education group and prepared lesson plans for them that involve global collaboration and current event awareness. Here's what they share:

I highly recommend TC Curriculum & Instructional Design (TCCID) for all your curriculum, instruction, and teacher professional development needs. Because of their excellent reputation, TCCID was asked to develop interactive lesson plans to be used with our museum’s recently developed educational DVDs. TCCID produced an extremely comprehensive, high quality, and user friendly product in record time. The lesson plans were placed on the museum website prior to school opening and will be used by thousands of teachers worldwide thanks to TCCID.

This is a free storybook that covers the Global History, Cold War section. Educators and students may freely use it to advance learning. It may be used to "catch learners up" who have perhaps been absent, as a review for an exam such as the NY State REGENTS, or for learners who wish to learn on their own.The sound quality is a bit scratchy but the narratives are very audible. The zipped file is about 12 MB so it should download quickly for those on cable.

Dr. Tom Hoerr is the Headmaster of New City School in St. Louis where the Multiple Intelligences (MI) are an essential part of student learning. Tom is well known in MI circles and readily shares his vast knowledge and experiences. He periodically sends a newsletter specifically about MI to educators world-wide. If you would like to be included in this distribution list, please email Tom at: trhoerr@newcityschool.org and ask to be placed on his distribution list. A terrific person doing great things!
TeacherTube provides videos which are often developed and uploaded by teachers themselves. The videos can add powerful and fun impact to lessons and may meet the learning style needs and preferences of your students.
rubrics4teachers is a site which will help you design a rubric for your instructional needs.
Microsoft Office 2007. I list this link because Office 2007 came out in 2006 and is over four years old now (Microsoft Office 2010 is out and many are still tied to the 97-2003 version). If we are to set the example we must maintain technology skills ourselves.
eSchoolnews.com. Of course I have to list this site. In fact I recommend their free newsletter to stay abreast of current learning tools and strategies.
